June, 2010 - Discovery Bay launches new website
Discovery Bay’s new Web site made its quiet debut this week following a much-anticipated and often public debate on the quest to revamp the outdated site.
“I wanted to have a soft rollout of the site because it gives the staff an opportunity to look at it, tinker with it and see if it is consistent with their initial thoughts and expectations,” said Discovery Bay General Manager Rick Howard.
The project began last September when the town hired NIA Creative to update the town’s existing site. NIA Creative, owned by Discovery Bay residents Chris and Jennifer Finetti, won the contract... Visit Link
April, 2010 - Directors preview new website
A community alert system, online payment options and streamlined audio and video capabilities were just a few of the features presented to the CSD Board last week as directors – and the public – got their first peek at Discovery Bay’s new Web site.
NIA Creative, the firm hired in September to revamp the town’s site, offered a glimpse of the new site at the regular CSD meeting on April 7. NIA Creative owners Jennifer and Chris Finetti identified some of the key elements of the new design, projected on a video screen for easier viewing.
“Staff said that their most urgent need was to have something that is easy to use, and we think we have done that,” said Jennifer. “The new Web site is designed to be attractive, intuitive and easy to use and understand. The site upgrades the professionalism of the CSD Board and also appropriately reflects the beauty and experience of living in Discovery Bay. The site also adds a much better conduit of communication between the board and community, which is something that has been needed for a long time.” Visit Link

This article appeared in the San Jose-Silicon Valley Business Journal. One of the small business resources suggested by the article was BusinessOwnerSpace.com - a website developed by NIA Creative:
Meet Bob Trifunovic and his energy consulting and engineering firm Encon Conservation Co. Inc: in business since 1976; clients include Starbucks Corp., The Gap Inc., Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers; 24 employees; has between $500,000 to $600,000 in receivables at any given time; does more than $4.5 million a year in volume; in the same offices for 28 years; and always pays its rent on time.
All of which made it more surprising to Trifunovic when Wells Fargo & Co. — which in March bought out Encon’s longtime business bank Mid-Peninsula Bank — declined to renew the company’s $300,000 line of credit.
