April, 2009 - NIA Creative Introduces Live Video Switching Capabilities for Corporate Events

If you would like to capture and stream video footage of corporate events, you may be interested in NIA's live video switching services. With a live switch, we are able to shoot your event with multiple cameras and "switch" from camera to camera via our portable editing suite, enabling us to edit the video in real-time, similar to a live televised event. We can also switch to digital content such as a PowerPoint presentation, logo animation, custom graphics, lower thirds (names and titles of presenters) and more - and we can send the signal to plasma or LCD screens on-stage, enabling your live audience to view the content as well.

When the event ends, we can immediately output the edited video to tape, DVD and/or can post it to the web for future viewing. If desired, we can also stream the event in real-time, enabling off-site employees or customers the opportunity to see the event as it unfolds. Events that may be suitable for a live switch include sales meetings, employee recognition events, user conferences/customer events, educational conferences and seminars, etc. We have also utilized this technology at a tradeshow presentation we produced on behalf of our client, Tensilica, providing a more entertaining experience for attendees visiting their "BattleBot-themed" booth.

While a live switch isn't ideal for every situation, there are advantages that can make it an attractive option:

  • Audience Engagement: A live switch entertains and informs your live audience as well as viewers watching the event online, serving as an innovative educational tool.

  • Speed: Because the event is switched in real-time, we can literally edit the video on-the-fly so that it is completed the same day as your event. If speed is critical, a live switch is definitely something you'll want to consider.

  • Affordability: Depending on the complexity of the event and what you envision, you may find a live switch less expensive than a separate shoot and post-production edit.
