April, 2009 - NIA Creative Begins Workforce Investment Projects for Two Bay Area One-Stops
NIA Creative begins 2009 with 2 new contracts with public sector organizations focused on workforce development initiatives targeting job seekers and businesses:
work2future, a program of the City of San Jose's Office of Economic Development, is a network of one-stop career centers serving San Jose, Campbell, Gilroy, Los Gatos, Morgan Hill, Los Altos Hills, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and the unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County.
Marin Employment Connection, a public and private partnership operated by the Marin County Department of Health & Human Services and supported by the Marin County Workforce Investment Board
Both organizations have contracted with NIA Creative to develop new websites as well as provide strategic marketing consulting and collateral design services. In addition, the work2future contract asks NIA to develop marketing materials and website enhancements for BusinessOwnerSpace.com, a site developed by NIA in 2007.
NIA has worked with public sector and non-profit organizations for several years, and in particular has developed expertise in workforce investment initiatives. 2009 marks the 4th year that NIA has worked with City of San Jose and work2future & BusinessOwnerSpace.com, and in 2008, NIA developed a marketing plan and marketing and branding materials for Napa County Workforce Investment Board. Previous related projects included an award-winning network of multilingual touchscreen kiosks for NOVA Workforce Investment Board as well as a website for the Employment Service Network and recruitment videos for a vocational school and an adult education program.
When the contract with NIA Creative was approved by the Marin County Board of Supervisors, the community benefit was noted: "With the development of a marketing plan and marketing tools the WIB increases its ability to successfully outreach to the employer community and in doing so increase the one stop delivery system's ability to provide programs and services that meet the needs of local employers and job seekers."
NIA Managing Director Jennifer Finetti comments, “We have always enjoyed bringing technology and marketing expertise to the public sector; for me personally, I find workforce investment projects to be so gratifying as I spent 10 years in employment counseling, workforce development, job placement and career advisement prior to joining NIA Creative. And with the current economy, the need is even greater now so we can impact many more businesses and job seekers.”
